Did you know that when dogs complete their education and become certified for police work that they become official police officers?
The role of dogs is important today and has been since Roman times.
Through the years they have been used for security and hunting. They are used in the military for scouting, patrols, messengers, and to locate land mines and booby traps. Law enforcement has used dogs for over 100 years.
We are very fortunate that the trained dogs for this region are in the Phillipston Police Department. Officers William Chapman and Raymond Jackson have trained and worked with these dogs and will bring them to the meeting. These officers will not only tell us about the training, but will also demonstrate the remarkable rescue work these animals can do. We will all be impressed and proud to have this service in our community.
Everyone is welcome.
